The Red Bull Hockey Juniors had a great start into their second straight road-game in Slovenia. Salzburg’s best scorer Oliver Nordberg got the Austrian side on the scoreboard after 28 seconds. Around halfway of the first, the Red Bulls used their first powerplay occasion for doubling up with Caspar Evertsson. Salzburg missed another powerplay later, while Jesenice did so early in the second. Despite the Juniors had the better of the play in the middle frame, the hosts halved the deficit with Miha Brus about halfway through the game. And they tied it up thanks to Tadej Cimzar, who got his 40th point this season. But the Red Bulls stroke back with Nordberg hitting the second in 50th minute. After Jesenice capitalized immediately on their third powerplay with Philippe Paradies the game was tied again about 7,5 minutes to go. Filip Varejcka took back den lead for Salzburg not even one minute later and Leevi Laakso, who had 27 saves overall, secured the road win in the end.
