The conditions for the duel between EC-KAC Future Team and Jesenice could not be more different: The Carinthians won only one of their last eleven games and slipped to the bottom of the table. The Slovenians, on the other hand, are superior leaders of the Alps Hockey League, with a current winning streak of 16 games. While Jesenice has the best offense with 86 goals scored, Klagenfurt has the weakest defense in the league with 86 goals conceded. In the first season meeting, however, the Klagenfurt side did well, were ahead after the first period and finally had to admit defeat 1:3. Out of nine direct duels in Klagenfurt, Jesenice secured eight victories.

On Tuesday, the team from Zell will face the Red Bull Hockey Juniors, who also lost twice recently. The Levijoki crew is currently in third place in the standings and has the second-best offense in the league with 80 goals scored - Zell am See has the second-best defense available. In the season meeting, the Pinzgau team got a 2:1 victory after shootout in the Eisarena Salzburg. In EKZ head coach Martin Ekrt will still miss Fabio Artner and Philipp Mair.
