In the first duel of the season between Salzburg and Linz, the home side got off to the better start and took the lead in the 13th minute through Lukas Schreier, who scored his first goal of the season. In the middle period, Brian Lebler equalised on power play, but a little later Mario Huber held his nerve in a 1 on 0 situation against Black Wings goalie Tirronen and put the hosts ahead again. A double strike in the third period decided the game in favour of the home side, with Scott Kosmachuk and captain Thomas Raffl scoring within 89 seconds. The 5:2 home win returned the Red Bulls to third place in the table.

The EC-KAC celebrated a 3:1 home win over Asiago Hockey. The Italians took the lead through Filippo Rigoni's ICE premiere goal. Klagenfurt replied before the first break, Petersen scored from a half-right position to equalise. The score remained 1:1 until just under six minutes before the end, when Herburger turned the game around. The visitors replaced their goalkeeper with an extra forward early on and Peeters capitalised on an empty net opportunity from the right wing to add a third.

Ljubljana remain within reach of the top six, the Slovenians won 3:1 at the spusu Vienna Capitals. After a goalless first period, the visitors took the lead with a powerplay goal from Marcel Mahkovec in the middle period. Miha Zajc made it 2:0 in the third period.
