EC Red Bull Salzburg is the first leader of the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League after a clear 6:1 victory over EC GRAND Immo VSV. While the Black Wings won in Klagenfurt thanks to a hat trick by Brian Lebler, the Moser Medical Graz99ers and the HC TWK Innsbruck celebrated home wins.

The EC Red Bull Salzburg won their opening home game on Friday for the first time since 2007. Coach Matt McIlvane's team defeated EC Grand Immo VSV 6:1. Dominique Heinrich put the hosts in the lead in the eighth minute with the first goal of the new bet-at-home ICE Hockey League. Filip Varejcka and Paul Huber even raised the score to 3-0, with Jerry Pollastrone writing in for the Carinthians before the first intermission. In the middle frame the Red Bulls made everything clear with goals from Alexander Rauchenwald and Rick Schofield. John Peterka set the final score at 6:1.



Linz extends winning series against Klagenfurt
The Black Wings 1992 are in second place in the table after a 4:1 victory at the EC-KAC. Thus the Upper Austrians started the season with a victory for the first time since 2017. With three goals, Linz forward Brian Lebler became the game winner. The captain opened the scoring after eight minutes and also set the score to 2-0 at the miday point. In the final period, new arrival Will Pelletier provided the preliminary decision thanks to a great assist and Lebler even set the score to 4-0 with his third goal. The Klagenfurt team only managed the honorary goal through Lukas Haudum. For the Upper Austrians it was the sixth victory in a row against the KAC.



Innsbruck wins west derby
For the third time in a row, the season opened with a west derby between HC TWK Innsbruck and the Dornbirn Bulldogs. The first goal was scored by Jan Lattner, who scored in the 14th minute on pwoer play. In the middle frame some new players introduced themselves for the first time in the league. Maxwell Gerlach and Braden Christoffer for Innsbruck and Dornbirn‘s Ioannis Kaldis entered the scoring charts - 3:1. In the third the guests tried hard to get one back, but the only goal was scored by the home side: Christoffer scored with an Empty Netter for a 4:1 final score. The direct league duel is now balanced with 22 wins each.

Graz wins scored game
After the Moser Medical Graz99ers were denied a victory in the preseason, the Styrians won 6-4 against Hydro Fehervar AV19 in a varied game at the start of the league. The Graz side made up for a two-time deficit immediately and took the lead for the first time in the 36th minute with a powerplay goal from Travis Oleksuk. But only 40 seconds later Fehervar equalised this time through Toni Kähkönen. Although the visitors retook the lead again in the third, the 99ers finally won through goals from Kainz, Oleksuk and Alagic.
