Both teams initially had chances in Salzburg, but the Red Bulls took the lead for the fifth time in a row. Lucas Thaler provided the only goal in the first period, the forward scoring with a powerful one-timer. The hosts increased the lead to 2:0 early in the middle period, in which things got heated again and again - Troy Bourke scored after ideal preparatory work by Baltram. Although the Red Bulls kept up the pressure, HCB Südtirol Alperia came back: Brad McClure (32') beat goalie Atte Tolvanen from close range on power play. The visitors had their best spell after the goal, but Salzburg survived this situation. The final period began with a flurry of action: Benjamin Nissner kept his nerve in front of HCB goalie Sam Harvey - 3:1. After Scott Valentine reduced the deficit, Peter Schneider scored from the blue line to make it 4:2 and the Red Bulls progressed to the final.

Four goals were scored in the first period between the EC-KAC and Steinbach Black Wings Linz. The efficient Upper Austrians led 2:0 after less than five minutes thanks to goals from Julian Pusnik and Brian Lebler. Finn van Ee was able to reduce briefly, but Niklas Bretschneider restored the two-goal advantage with his first playoff goal in the win2day ICE Hockey League. The visitors let the game slip out of their hands in the middle period. First Fabian Hochegger scored on his comeback, then Raphael Herburger even equalised during a 5-on-3 PP. The score remained 3:3 until 72 seconds before the end of regulation time, when Kevin Clark decided the game in favour of the home side. Nick Pastujov scored an empty netter to make the final score 5:3. The sixth duel will take place on Sunday in Linz.
