EC Red Bull Salzburg travelled to Sweden with a lot of self-confidence. Head coach Oliver David's team have won their last three CHL games, and the Red Bulls have even won four in a row in the league. The reigning ICE champions also confirmed their strong form in the game in Väjxö. However, the Swedes had more of the first period and took the lead in the 17th minute. The Salzburg team were more than a match for the rest of the game. In defence, the visitors could rely on a strong David Kickert in goal and in the last ten minutes they were also successful in front of their opponents goal. First Lucas Thaler (51') equalised on a backhand against Växjö goalie Benedikt Oschgan - the 19-year-old Austrian in goal for the Swedes, who played for Linz in the Alps Hockey League last season, had to be substituted shortly afterwards due to injury. Salzburg capitalised on a late penalty against the home side to decide the game. In the 59th minute, Peter Schneider scored with a one timer into the corner of the net, and just 25 seconds later Ryan Murphy finished off a beautiful play via Raffl and Schneider to make the final score 3:1. The Red Bulls have thus qualified for the Champions Hockey League playoffs.

Hydro Fehérvár AV19 put in a good performance at Skellefteå AIK, but ultimately suffered their fifth CHL defeat. The Swedes were 2:0 up after just over twelve minutes, but Balint Magosi managed to pull one back in the first period. The home side restored the two-goal lead in the middle period, but Trevor Cheek was able to reduce the deficit again in the 48th minute. Skellefteå then added one more to make the final score 4:2.
