  • The EC GRAND Immo VSV and the EC Red Bull Salzburg will meet for the second time this season. Right at the beginning of the season Salzburg won with 6:1 at home. Since then Villach has played ten more games, Salzburg only seven. Last Sunday the Bulls were back on the ice for the first time after a 30-day Covid 19 forced break. They were clearly beaten by the EC-KAC with 4:1. The VSV recently celebrated a surprisingly clear 4:1 home victory over the spusu Vienna Capitals.
  • The guests from Salzburg have been waiting for a victory for four games already.
  • In the table, the VSV is currently tenth with ten points from eleven games. Only eight times the EC Red Bull Salzburg stood in this season on the ice so far. RBS achieved four victories. With a total of 13 points they are seventh in the table.
  • While Villach was able to win the last two home games, Salzburg has been beaten with 4:1 in the last three away games. With only one away win, the Bulls rank tenth in the away table.
  • At the EC Red Bull Salzburg, captain Thomas Raffl and goalkeeper Jean Philippe Lamoureux return to the squad. Both were missing on Sunday against the EC-KAC. Raffl scored five points in seven appearances (2G/3A). With a save percentage of 92.4%, Lamoureux is currently the third best goalkeeper in the league. Alexander Rauchenwald will not be in the squad against Villach. The 27-year-old suffered an upper body injury during training in preparation for the game at his home club VSV. This season the center has been on the ice at all eight games of RBS so far. The Villach-born scored six points (4A/2️A). Mario Huber and Filip Varejcka are also missing.
  • Defender Frederic Allard will make his debut at EC GRAND Immo VSV. The 22-year-old was signed by the Nashville Predators. All information about the deal can be found here.
  • There are positive things to report from Martin Ulmer. The 32-year-old is doing better after a circulatory collapse, which he suffered at the weekend. After comprehensive medical examinations, the all-clear could be given.
