The dates for intermediate round and Erste Bank Eishockey Liga playoffs 2020 are known. The postseason starts on Wednesday, March 4th with the champion being crowned on April 16th at the latest.

The final round of the first phase will take place on Sunday, 26 January 2020 with the five best-placed team qualifying prematurely for the playoffs. From 31st of January to 29th of February these teams meet in pick round to decide about pick and home right for the playoffs. The bonus points are awarded in descending order with 4-2-1-0-0.

In the same time period, the teams places 6 to 11, however, fight in the Qualification Round for the last three playoff tickets. The bonus points are awarded in descending order with 8-6-4-2-1-0.

Placement after the first 44 rounds remains crucial if two or more teams in the Pick or Qualification Round should be tied at the end.

Start and rhythm of finals depend on semifinal series
The play-off pick by the top 3 teams after the pick round takes place after the last matchday of the second phase on February, 29. The three best-placed teams will choose their opponent from the places 5 to 8, starting with the winner of the pick-round.

The Playoffs 2020 start on Wednesday, March 4th 2020. Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Finals are all played best of seven mode. The start of finals is scheduled for Sunday, April 5th in a H-H / A-A / H / A / H rhythm. If the semifinals are decided in six or less games, the finals will start on Friday, April 3rd in H / A / H / A / H / A / H rhythm. The Erste Bank Eishockey League Champion 2020 is known on April 16th 2020 at the latest.

Three CHL spots
For the 2020/21 season three teams of Erste Bank Eishockey will take part in the Champions Hockey League again. The teams can qualify as follows:

  • Winner regular season phase 1 (44 rounds)
  • Winner regular season phase 2 (Pick Round)
    • If winner of phase 1 is also winner of phase 2, the second placed team (in pickround) reaches the second spot
  • Champion Erste Bank Eishockey Liga
    • If an already qualified team is in the final, the second finalist will get the third spot. If both already qualified teams contest the final, then the semi final loser, who is better placed in the regular season phase 2, will take the third spot
