The Austrians Johannes Schernthaner and Felix Volgger will defend for EK Zeller Eisbären in the SKY Alps Hockey League also in the 2017/18-season. US-defenseman Steve Birnstill stays at FBI VEU Feldkirch.

With Johannes Schernthaner and Felix Volgger two defensemen stay another year at EK Zeller Eisbären! Johannes Schernthaner spend so far nearly his complete career  at the Austrian club. 2016/17 the 24-years old strong defenseman made 38 games for the Polar Bears in the SKY Alps Hockey League and scored seven points (2G/5A). Felix Volgger celebrated past season his debut in the first team of EK Zeller Eisbären. The 19-years old big defenseman played 19 games in the SKY Alps Hockey League and convinced Head Coach Dieter Werfring and the managment from his talent.
 
With Steve Birnstill one of the key-players stays at FBI VEU Feldkirch! The US-American was the clubs best defenseman in the SKY Alps Hockey League 2016/17, he made 42 points (13 goals and 29 Assists, Plus-Minus: +3) from 43 games. In the 2013/14-season the 31-years old US-American defended already for League-opponent HC Gherdeina valgardena.it in the Inter National League and in Italy. Besides Birnstill was in the last nine years already player of Frederikshavn, EfB Ishokey (both DEN), Sheffield Steelers and Braehead Clan (both ENG) in Europe.
