The spusu Vienna Capitals opened the 27th round of Erste Bank Eishockey Liga with its second home win within 24 hours. The leader defeated Dornbirn Bulldogs 4:1 and won the third season meeting too. Dornbirn suffered its second consecutive loss, after losing to Fehervar AV19 on Friday and remains on 10th spot in standings.

Bernhard Starkbaum made his debut for the spusu Vienna Capitals in their second home game within 24 hours. After a none-goal opening frame, in which Starkbaum and Rasmus Rinne each showed big saves, Taylor Vause got his colors on the scoreboard with a shorthander. About four minutes later Kelsey Tessier doubled the lead for the hosts. The Dornbirn Bulldogs halved the deficit about four minutes to go in the second, with a goal of Henrik Neubauer. Taylor Vause made the preliminary decision early in the third, with his second goal in this game. After an assumed second goal of Dornbirn was denied, Ali Wukowits rounded off the score with an empty netter 92 seconds to go.
