The puck will be dropped at 7.30 pm on Tuesday in Zell am See for the semi-final opener. Both the Pinzgau team and the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan recorded a sweep in the quarter-finals. While the Salzburg team are in the AHL semi-finals for the first time, the Sterzing side is in the last four for the second time in a row. A year ago, they defeated Zell am See 4:0 in the quarter-finals. This season, the polar bears go into the series as favourites as the regular season winners. The Austrians have won the three season meetings so far.

In the second semi-final, the Rittner Buam SkyAlps and HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice will face each other. While the Slovenians won the quarter-final series against Cortina after five games, the reigning AHL champions had to play Merano in game seven, which the hosts won 7:2. Ritten and Jesenice are facing each other in the playoffs for the fourth time - so far always in the semi-finals. The South Tyroleans prevailed in 2018, while the Steelers reached the final in 2022 and 2023. There have already been five AHL duels and one game in the Contintal Cup this season - Ritten leads with 4:2 wins.
