Graz got off to a flying start in Székesfehérvár on Tuesday: Manuel Ganahl scored the opening goal after just eleven seconds. With a convincing 5-1 victory, the regular-season champions extended their lead in the series to 2-0 and now return to the Merkur Eisstadion, which is once again sold out. In front of their home crowd, the Styrians have celebrated seven consecutive wins. Fehérvár suffered their first two consecutive defeats of the current playoffs – and have also lost their last three away games in Graz.

HC Pustertal are also still unbeaten in the current playoffs. The South Tyroleans have yet to concede a goal in the semi-final series against Olimpija and won both matches 3-0. Yesterday’s game in Ljubljana was marked by numerous physical altercations – a total of 236 penalty minutes were handed out, the fourth-highest total in league history (read the story). The Wolves have won their last six home games at the once again sold-out Intercable Arena and have also won the last four encounters against Olimpija in Brunico.
