Bozen celebrated their first Playoff-win against Vienna
The goals were the only missing thing in period 1 in Bozen, this changed immediatly after the re-start: The Italians played their best game of the season and were rewarded with three goals: Petan with a deflection (22.), Smith finishing a solo with a shot into the upper corner (23.) and Miceli with a shot from the slot in a Power Play (39.) gave HCB Südtirol Alperia a 3:0-lead against the Vienna Capitals in semifinal 2 after 40 minutes. The Italians controlled the match in period 3. The Foxes added another goal in minute 50: Bernard deflected the puck after a shot from the blue line from Tomassoni. McKiernan netted a late Power Play goal for the Austrians (54.) to bring the Caps on the scoreboard. But Bozen won 4:1 and tied the best-of-seven-semifinal-series at 1:1.

Linz tied semifinal-series against Salzburg thanks two first period goals…
The game offered good chances for both teams from the beginning. Linz opened the scoring: Lebler netted the 1:0 with a placed wristshot from the slot (8.). Piche’s Power Play goal gave the Upper Austrians a 2:0-lead in minute 15. The defenseman potted the puck in from the distance. The Black Wings were the chiefs on the ice now. The Black Wings had two Power Plays after the re-start, but the home-team could not extend their lead. The Red Bulls got a Power Play on their own later in the second period, but the Mozart Citizens just hit the post twice. On the other side the Black Wings netted the 3:0 from a counter-attack. Kristler potted the 3:0 from a rebound after a shot from Spannring. The Red Bulls played offensively in period 3. John Hughes finally beat a strong Mike Ouzas in a 5-on-3-Power Play with a perfect shot into the upper corner from a sharp angel (50.). It was the Canadians 200th goal in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga. The Red Bulls continued applying pressure on the Black Wings, but Ouzas allowed no other goal.
