On Thursday, six games are scheduled in the Alps Hockey League. In a duel between two teams in good form, the fourth-placed Zeller Eisbären will visit the Rittner Buam, who are currently in fifth place. In the only game on Friday, league leaders HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice face EC Bregenzerwald at home.

It's been a lopsided encounter between Salzburg and Linz in the last two years, with the Juniors winning all four of their AHL games to date by a score of 30:1 goals. But this season, the Upper Austrians have won two of their five games, with the Steel Wings most recently prevailing at home against Kitzbühel. The Juniors also celebrated a win against Gherdeina on Saturday - in total, Salzburg have won four of their nine games.

The Klagenfurt team, who have won all four AHL duels with the Silver Caps so far, are in sixth place in the table.

Nine days after the 6:1 victory against VEU Feldkirch, the Rittner Buam welcome the Zeller Eisbären on Thursday evening. The Salzburg side was able to collect 14 points in their seven games so far. This puts the Blue-Yellow team in fourth place, one ahead of the Rittner Buam, who have played six matches and collected 13 points. Philip Putnik and Henrik Neubauer have been particularly prolific scorers for Zell am See so far, with 11 points each. Before the ninth meeting between the Rittner Buam and the Austrians, the record of 6:2 wins is in favour of the South Tyroleans, who will only have to make do without the long-term injured Manuel Öhler on Thursday.

The runners-up have won 14 of 17 AHL duels with the Gardena side, but the "Fury" picked up four points in their last two appearances in Asiago. With six points from seven games, Hannu Järvenpää's team is in 13th place. The only two victories of the season were achieved away from home.

With Eric Pance (21 points) as well as Jesperi Viikila and Erik Svetina (15 each), the scorer ranking is also led by a Jesenice trio. Bregenzerwald have only played four games so far and won two of them. The Vorarlberg team already caused a surprise with a 4:3 win at Asiago. The last duel in December 2020 went to ECB, who thus celebrated their first win in the tenth comparison.
