Also this weekend numerous games are scheduled in the Alps Hockey League. On Saturday, among others, league leader EK Die Zeller Eisbären will face the SHC Fassa Falcons at home. For the Polar Bears it is the first home game after previously five away games in a row. On Sunday, runner-up S.G. Cortina Hafro will face the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan. The fourth in the table Rittner Buam SkyAlps will face the ninth in the table EHC Lustenau on Saturday. Both teams are separated by four points. On Thursday, the Buam celebrated a narrow 4:3-OT win at the Red Bull Hockey Juniors. They were still in front 3:1 after 40 minutes. Lustenau, on the other hand, turned a 1:2 deficit at home against Steel Wings Linz AG into a 3:2 win. It was the first win for the Vorarlberg team after two losses in a row before. Ritten is still without a defeat at home this season, while the EHC, on the other hand, has yet to win any of its three away games and has been waiting for an away win since March 4 overall. Lustenau was last victorious in Ritten in the AHL on March 20, 2021. The South Tyroleans have won seven of their last ten direct duels.

For the second time within 24 hours the EC Bregenzerwald is challenged on Saturday. Still today, Friday, the Vorarlberg team plays at league newcomer HK RST Pellet Celje. Both Jesenice and Bregenzerwald are currently in very good form. Jesenice clearly won 8:1 in Fassa on Thursday and celebrated the third AHL victory in a row. Bregenzerwald also has three wins in a row before the game in Celje. In the standings, the Slovenians are in third place with 15 points. Bregenzerwald could jump to fourth place with a win in Celje. In the H2H, the reigning champions have had the upper hand in nine of the last ten duels.

After a strong season start with three wins in a row, the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers recently lost three times in a row. On Thursday, the South Tyroleans had no chance in the 0:8 defeat in Vipiteno. It was the first game of the season in which Unterland remained without a goal. As seventh in the table, however, they are already six points ahead of twelfth-placed HC Meran/o Pircher, who have only won two games and were most recently beaten 2:5 at home by Zell am See. In the Alps Hockey League, this duel has only taken place twice so far. Both teams celebrated one away win each last season.

The EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel recently celebrated two shootout wins in a row and is in fifth place in the table with eleven points. The EC-KAC Future Team, on the other hand, won surprisingly clear 6:1 against Val Gardena on Thursday and improved to eleventh place in the table. For the Klagenfurt team it was the first win after three defeats in a row. In the past three meetings against the Eagles, the Future Team always made it to overtime or shootout, in which they always lost.

Less than 24 hours after the home game against the EC Bregenzerwald, HK RST Pellet Celje will face the Steel Wings Linz AG. The league newcomer from Slovenia was able to celebrate its first win in the Alps Hockey League last weekend. With three points, the Slovenians, before Friday's game against Bregenzerwald, are one point behind the Steel Wings, who lost 2:3 to Lustenau on Thursday, despite an interim 2:1 lead. For the Upper Austrians it was the third defeat after regular playing time this season. Twice lost after overtime.

After five away games and as many victories, league leader EK Die Zeller Eisbären returns home to the KE KELIT Arena on Saturday. Opponent is the tenth in the table SHC Fassa Falcons. Both teams are separated by eleven points. On Thursday, the Italians lost to the reigning champion Jesenice clearly with 1:8. It was the fourth defeat from the past five games for Fassa. Zell am See won 5:2 in Merano and is still the only team without a defeat this season. In the offense, Tomi Wilenius (12 points) and Daniel Ban (11 points) are particularly brilliant for the Polar Bears. Both players are currently leading the scoring charts of the Alps Hockey League. Zell am See is the clear favorite in tomorrow's duel, but Fassa won three of four encounters last season.

The HC Gherdeina valgardena.it and the Red Bull Hockey Juniors are still not in good form. Both teams have only three points and are in 14th place (RBJ) and 16th place (GHE) in the standings. On Thursday, the South Tyroleans were clearly defeated 1:6 at the EC-KAC Future Team. The Young Bulls conceded a 3:4-OT defeat against Ritten. After two periods, however, they were already trailing 1:3. In the H2H, both teams were able to win one game each last season.

While Cortina is currently only in eighth place in the table, the Broncos are second in the table, just one point behind Zell am See. On Thursday the Broncos won against Unterland clearly with 8:0, Cortina lost in Kitzbühel with 1:2-SO. In the last direct comparison, Vipiteno kept the upper hand against Cortina at home with 3:2. Away from home, it was also a contested game, again with the better end for the home team (5:4).
