KHL Sisak have already performed well in preparation, with the Croatians winning three of their five preseason games. Last weekend, they also celebrated three clear victories in the Continental Cup and advanced to the next round. Now the league premiere awaits them when they travel to former champions Jesenice. The Slovenians secured a 3:2 shootout win at Bregenzerwald in the AHL opener.

The Red Bull Hockey Juniors will play their third game. After a win in Cortina (2:1 OT), the Salzburgers were beaten by Sterzing (2:3 OT) on Tuesday. Now the duel with Kitzbühel follows. The Tyroleans have recently celebrated six wins in a row - after their five victories in the preseason, the eagles secured a 5:2 opening win against Gröden. The Juniors have won seven of their nine home games against the Tyroleans so far.

A particularly interesting encounter is Ritten against Zell am See - the last three head-to-head duels have gone to the South Tyroleans. In the first game of the season, the reigning champions were beaten 4:5 in overtime by HC Meran Pircher after the Jamie Russell team let a 4:1 lead slip away in the final period. Zell am See is one of the title contenders this season; the team from Pinzgau defeated Unterland 3:1 on the first matchday.

Following their success against champions Ritten, Meran now face an away game in Neumarkt. This duel has been played four times in the Alps Hockey League, with both teams recording two victories each. A total of 31 goals were scored in these games.

Val Gardena and Cortina are looking for their first win on the second matchday. Head coach Kai Suikkanen's team picked up at least one point in their overtime loss to the Juniors. Cortina has won the last five AHL meetings against the "Furie" - in total, the blue-and-whites have come out on top in 16 of 20 games.
