Sky Alps Hockey League has made a story of success still before the fist puck is dropped. After the return to Erste Bank Eishockey Liga, where they broadcast more than 50 games, the Pay-TV Channel Sky has secured the title sponsoring of Sky Alps Hockey League. The partnership was announced as part of the season opening press conference in Vienna.

Sponsoring allows new opportunities
„We have found the last building brick in our league structure with the Sky Alps Hockey League. The top teams from Italy together with the former INL clubs from Austria and Slovenia as well as the teams from Klagenfurt and Salzburg build a perfect platform for the development of young players. I’m also very pleased for the clubs that we have found a new partner with Sky now“, reports Peter Schramm, chairmen of the newly found Borad of Governors of Sky Alps Hockey League.

„Sky is not only a lucky find in Erste Bank Eishockey Liga, we have also found a great partner for Sky Alps Hockey League. We are extremely proud that we can work even more closely with a strong brand and company that has a great passion for hockey. Sky was searching for a league with a large number of young faces and the sponsoring helps us to drive the professional organisation forward more efficient“, says Christian Feichtinger, general manager of Erste Bank Eishockey Liga. EBEL is responsible for the organisation and realization of Sky Alps Hockey League.

Walter Fink, Director Marketing Sky Österreich: „With the Alps Hockey League and Sky a new and innovative format meets a company well-known for innovation. I’m convinced that the cooperation will find some positive synergies. Our engagement in Alps Hockey League is another building brick to strengthen our hockey presence in Austria and furthermore Alto Adige is an interesting market where we want to be on the spot.“
