Both Slovenian clubs - HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice and HK SŽ Olimpija - have earned important wins in semifinals #2 on Wednesday.

HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice has won semifinal game #2 against HC Pustertal Wolves 3:2/OT at home on Wednesday and tied the best of five series at 1:1. The Slovenes came back from a 0:2-deficit to win the race in Overtime. Each club had their chances in period 1, but the goalies Climie and Furlong allowed no goals. The break-through has come in minute 27: Gagnon was sent into the penalty box for roughing and Traversa has quickly netted the 1:0 from the first Power Play opportunity for Bruneck. Then, the Italians took two penaltys on their own, but the Slovenes failed to take advantage from their Power Play chances. The guests had a perfect start into period 3: Traversa potted the 2:0 in the second Power Play after just 93 seconds. But, the „Red Steelers“ did not give up and were rewarded with the 1:2 by Brus in minute 47. Paradis has even potted the 2:2 in a Power Play in minute 52. Bruneck has given away a 2:0-lead on the road, same as Jesenice did in Bruneck in game 1. The match went into an Overtime, in which Rodman scored the Game Winner for Jesenice after 99 seconds and he made Jesenice's comeback perfect.

HK SZ Olimpija won semifinal game #2 4:0 in Lustenau on Wednesday too and got a 2:0-lead in the best of five series. The Slovenians had a perfect start into the match: Pesut netted the 1:0 after 23 seconds! The dragons have been the chiefs on the ice then and have finally extended their lead with two quick goals scored by Pesut (39./pp) and Chvatal (40.) within just 60 seconds late in the second period. The Slovenes controlled the game in the last period, Jezovsek has even added the fourth goal in minute 54 and goalie Zan Us has earned a Shut Out. Besides, EHC‘ good home-run has come to an end after six straight wins.
