Leader takes clear win at Klagenfurt
Alps Hockey League leader HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana did not show any weakness in Klagenfurt, winning 7:1 at EC-KAC. With its fifth win in a row, the 2019 champions became the first team to secure at least a spot in the pre-playoffs. The Carinthians, who had to compete without their top scorers Pirmann and Kapel, conceded their fifth defeat in a row. The foundation for the victory was laid by the "dragons", who had four times as many shots on goal over 60 minutes as their opponents (42:10), with two goals within 21 seconds by Ziga Pance (5.) and Ziga Pesut (6.) in the first period. In the middle frame, the Slovenians quickly made everything clear with five unanswered. Marcel Witting (53./PP1) scored the consolidation goal of the home team in the final period.

Bregenzerwald takes revenge on the „Broncos“
EC Bregenzerwald celebrated a 4:1 home win over Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan after two recent defeats, also taking revenge for the 2:3 overtime loss in the first season duel and celebrating a victory against Sterzing for the first time since December 2017. The "Wälder" took a big step towards the pre-playoffs too and are now in eighth place in the table. After an even starting frame with one goal each, Julian Zwerger sent the Vorarlberg side into the final period with a 2:1 lead. The goal 34 seconds left in the second period was his 20th point this season. Tuukku Rajamäki then added a brace in the final period to secure the win for ECB.

Jesenice back on winning ways
HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice returned to winning ways immediately after ending its winning streak on Saturday (1:2 @SGC). Jesenice secured the clear 7:3 home win against Red Bull Hockey Juniors with a strong final frame. The Slovenians thus moved up to second place in the table, providing a Slovenian double lead behind Ljubljana. Jesenice had to fight for a long time: The 1:0 lead and later an intermediate two-goal advantage was always equalized by the courageously acting Salzburg side. In the final period, the Slovenians scored four unanswered - and won clearly in the end. Francesco Pinelli scored his first goal in the Alps Hockey League and recorded three assists too.
