Master Round:
In an exciting game, the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan triumphed with a 5:3 win over the Red Bull Hockey Juniors. The game was an open exchange from the start, reflected in a 2:2 tie in the first period. In the second period, each team managed to score one goal. However, in the final period, the Broncos demonstrated their determination by scoring two additional goals, thus securing the win for themselves.
In the clash between the Rittner Buam SkyAlps and EK Die Zeller Eisbären, the hosts prevailed with a clear 6:1 victory. The Rittner Buam, known for their strength on home ice, dominated the game from the outset. They laid a solid foundation for their victory with a 4:1 lead in the first period. The Zeller Eisbären, who had performed strongly in the first phase of the championship, found no answer to the constant offensive power of the Rittner Buam. In the second period, the hosts extended their lead with two more goals, while the third period remained goalless.
Meanwhile, EC Bregenzerwald clinched their first win in the Master Round, but it was hard-fought. The hosts opened the game against S.G. Cortina Hafro with a leading goal just 47 seconds in. The Vorarlberg team remained the more efficient side for the first 40 minutes, building a 3:1 lead. However, Cortina fought back and managed to push the game into overtime. There, Julian Zwerger made the decisive play. With this victory, EC Bregenzerwald earned their first points in the interim round.
Qualification Round A:
Despite their second defeat, SIJ Acroni Jesenice remains at the top of the Qualification Round A table. Following their loss to Gherdeina in the opener, the reigning champions were then defeated in overtime by the Steel Wings Linz. Kilian Rappold scored the game-winning goal. These were the first points in the interim round for the Upper Austrians.
HC Meran/o, who had a bye in the previous round, kicked off Qualification Round A with a solid win over HK RST Pellet Celje. Meran/o twice built a two-goal lead in this encounter, but the Slovenians responded each time. In the end, Meran/o prevailed with a 5:4 victory, closely trailing Jesenice.
Qualification Round B:
EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel took the lead in Qualification Round B with a win over SHC Fassa Falcons. However, the lead changed hands several times in an exciting game on Saturday evening. The Falcons led 4:2 at one point in the third period, before the Eagles produced a strong finish and eventually prevailed 6:4. Waltteri Lehtonen made the difference for the Kitzbühel side with a hat-trick.
EHC Lustenau entered the race for playoff qualification with a 3:1 win against the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers. The Vorarlberg team reduced the gap to their direct competitor, who had already played one more game, to three points.
