The Red Bull Hockey Juniors and the HC Pustertal delivered a true battle of wits. The guests from South Tyrol, who won the first duel 3:1, took the lead after only four minutes through Brett Perlini. But Salzburg struck back and turned the game in his favour until halfway through - 2:1 by Zündel and Leonhardt. It went back and forth: two powerplay goals put the HCP back in the lead, but Salzburg struck back within minutes and were ahead 4:3 in the 48th minute.
