WSV Sterzing Broncos Weihenstephan succeeded a big signing with Jure Sotlar. The 23-year-old Slovene gained 53 points (19G, 34A) in 46 Alps Hockey League games last season. Before that the winger almost entirely played for his home club Olimpija Ljubljana where he had 139 Erse Bank Eishockey Liga appearances. “I’m looking forward to this new experience of playing outside Slovenia and improve my game. Personally, I hope to at least repeat my last season, and that as a team we make it to the playoffs.” In addition to Sotlar the club signed 28-year-old Canadian Giffen Nyren.  The offensive defenseman is a good skater and is also well-known for his physical play. Last season Nyren played in the French league for Dijon, where he earned 17 points (3G, 14A) in 25 games.

Important extension for Cortina, locals stay with Gherdeina

Fan favourite back at Bregenzerwald
