From the beginning, EC GRAND Immo VSV is the game-dominating team, had in the opening frame almost three times as many shots on goal as the Dornbirn Bulldogs. The one-goal lead was also the result of the increased chances, as Marco Richter (13.) netted with a backhand after a give-and-go with Benjamin Lanzinger. At the beginning of the second period the home team equalized, Kevin Hancock (25.) hit a one-timer. Then Villach turned up the heat - and the game to their favor: Chris Collins with a brace (27., 31. /PP1), Benjamin Lanzinger (36.) and Sebastian Zauner (40.) made it 5:1. In the final period first Dornbirn shortened through Davis Vandane (45.), before Renars Krastenbergs (52.) scored the last goal of the game.
