Surprisingly clear home win for Bregenzerwald against Kitzbühel

The EC Bregenzerwald beat the Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel 5:2 in the only Wednesday game of the Alps Hockey League. It was the first defeat for the fourth-placed team from Tyrol after five wins in a row.

A total of five different players scored for EC Bregenzerwald. The Vorarlberg team went into the first period break with a 1:0 lead. After 40 minutes, the team in eleventh place in the table was 3:1 in front and the ECB even pulled away to 5:1 in the final period. In the end, Bregenzerwald celebrated their first win in their third season duel with Kitzbühel and their first success overall after three consecutive defeats.

Before the game, Kitzbühel announced the signing of Anthony DeLuca. The 29-year-old has been given a contract until the end of the season. DeLuca already played for Val Gardena in the Alps Hockey League last season and was the league's top goalscorer with 50 goals.
