The Rittner Buam won the opening game of the final series 3:1 at home on Thursday. Colin Furlong saved 36 shots, he leads the goalie statistics in the playoffs with a .941 save percentage. Cortina is now hoping for more offensive punch, with Diego Cuglietta and Tommaso Traversa each holding seven goals in the postseason so far. Cortina won its first two home games in last year's final series against the eventual champions Jesenice. Ritten has only won one of six away games in their two previous appearances in the final (2017 and 2018).
