Tue, 02.01.2018:  EC-KAC II – HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice 2:7 (0:3,1:2,1:2)
HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice was the chief on the ice at Klagenfurt. The Slovenes were on Fire (46:19-shots) from the start. But EC-KAC II came close to score first, when Valentin Hammerle just hit the post from the distance. Then the „Red Steelers“ took advantage from their chances and got a 5:0-lead thanks goals from Kalan (13.), Cimzar (14.), Magovac (20.), Alagic (21.) and Brus (25./pp). The Carinthians also had some chances. Finally in minute 40 Kraus was successful with a big shot. In the end the Slovenes won at Klagenfurt clearly with 7:2.
 
Tue, 02.01.2018: Red Bull Hockey Juniors – HK SZ Olimpija 2:1/SO (0:1,0:0,1:0,0:0,1:0)
Red Bull Hockey Juniors made pressure in period 1, but HK SZ Olimpija scored the goal: Zibelnik beat goalie Fießinger with a placed shot from the blue line. In period 2 the Slovenes took over the control of the game (19:9-shots in period 2), but goalie Fießinger was not to beat. In period 3 the Mozart Citizens couldn‘t take advantage from two Power Plays first, before Soramies got the puck behind the net, passed to Wachter, who scored. Late in the game Strodel hit the post and so the game went to Overtime and then to Shoot Out, where Fießinger stopped all Penaltys from the guests, while Strodel scored for Salzburg.
 
Tue, 02.01.2018: EK Zeller Eisbären – FBI VEU Feldkirch 1:2/SO (0:1,0:0,1:0,0:0,0:1)
EK Zeller Eisbären were the chief on the ice, but VEU-goalie Alex Caffi wasn‘t to beat. The goal made the guests from Feldkirch: The puck came back from the boards and Tikkinen scored from close range. The same picture in period 2: The Polar Bears made pressure (16:5-shots), but no goals were scored. Finally in minute 52 Schernthaner was successful. In the last 20 minutes also the VEU did more for the offense, but goalie Dominik Frank and the EKZ-defense were ready. So the game went into Overtime and even to Shoot Out, where Birnstill decided the match for the VEU.
 
Tue, 02.01.2018: WSV Sterzing Broncos Weihenstephan - Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey 5:6 OT (0:2; 3:1; 2:2; 0:1)
The match was immediately very interesting in Sterzing. The home team found again Gianluca Vallini to defend the net of the Broncos. The visiting team played in the attack zone but they didn’t overcame the defense of the hosts. The Broncos also built two dangerous goal actions with Tobias Kofler and Ben Duffy in powerplay. When the Asiago played in powerplay the score changed. The protagonist was Anthony Bardaro who performed two goals in double powerplay in only 63 seconds (on rebound and deflection). In the final time of the periodo Ben Duffy missed the first goal for the hosts. In the second the game was transformed. Hannes Oberdorfer scored the first goal for home team with a shot from the blue. But the Asiago advanced again in the result just before the middle of the game at the end of a nice action in powerplay and ended by Anthony Nigro. But exactly 65 seconds later the Broncos made the second goal: Matthias Mantiger scored from the slot. Now the game was in the hands of the Broncos who balanced the accounts with the goal of Jure Sotlar (3:3). In the third time everything happened. Vipiteno took the command of hostilities thanks to the goal of Mark Lee (double powerplay) and Felix Brunner (54.). Vipiteno seemed close to victory but hockey was a sport that must be played to the end. When were missing two minutes from the end of third period, Anthony Bardaro (hat-trick/powerplay) and then Matteo Tessari allowed Asiago to find an incredible draw. At the overtime Anthony Nigro missed a penalty shot but then after 43 seconds from the beginning it was Giulio Scandella who scored the victory goal. The Asiago won 6: 5 after the overtime as they earned the access to the Final Four Scudetto with two rounds in advance. In the ranking of the AHL, the Asiago, always in 2th place, must give a point to the leaders of Ritten. For Sterzing was the 2th defeat against Asiago.
 
Tue, 02.01.2018: Rittner Buam - HC Fassa Falcons 5:2 (1:0; 2:0; 2:2)
Andreas Alber, Max Ploner, Kevin Fink and Philipp Pechlaner were absent for the AHL team leader. Hannes Treibenreif was the goalkeeper of the hosts. Absences also among the Falcons: Soel Constantin, Ivan Lauton, Davide Schiavone, Nik Trottner and Andrea Odorizzi not was in the game. The home team, which on Saturday won in Alba di Canazei on Falcons (3:0), called the rhythm from the beginning as they took the lead with Dan Tudin (15.). The first drittel also closes on this score. In the central period the Klobstein   doubled. Once again, Dan Tudin scored but this time in powerplay action. After 131 seconds Oscar Ahlström scored in powerplay. During the third time the Ritten slowed down the pace and was immediately punished. Fassa shortened first with Jari Monferone, immediately after Marco Marzolini, always in powerplay action. The hopes of the Falncons ended up at 46th when Johannes Fauster scored 4: 2. For the forward of the "Buam" was the first ever goal in the AHL. Six minutes later Alex Frei fixed the final result (5:2) for home team. The Ritten now had four points of advantage in the stading of the AHL against the Asiago. In the IHL Elite the Buam was close to qualifying for the FINAL FOUR Scudetto.
 
Tue, 02.01.2018: HC Gherdeina valgardena.it - HC Neumarkt Riwega 4:2 (1:0; 2:1; 1:1)
The Gherdeina took the lead in the South Tyrol derby after 3 minutes: the visitors lost the puck behind her door and so it came a pass to Andreas Vinatzer that scored alone in the front of the slot. Then the Gherdeina played more in attack while Tobias Steiner hit the crossbar for the Wild Goose. In the second period the game was more balanced: Joseph Harcharik missed a penalty shot while Christian Welleit missed another important occasion. So after half time came the second goals of the “Furies” that double with Gabriel Vinatzer. Then David Roupec scored with a shot from distance as he made 3:0. In the Neumarkt team there was a change of goalkeeper: inside Budinsky, outside Morandell. Before the end of the second half there was the first goal of the guests with Jason Muzik, Then in the third period Martin Graf brought back the Neuamrkt in the match. But the Wild Geese however, failed to score in the many powerplay in his favor. So in the final Gherdeina closeed the score with the empty goal of the former Lundström who in this match also made three assists. The Gherdeina won 4: 2 as they took the revenge after the defeat at the end of the year.
 
Tue, 02.01.2018: S.G. Cortina Hafro - HC Pustertal Wölfe 0:4 (0:3; 0:0; 0:1)
Federico Adami and Luca Zandonella were absent for home team. Danny Elliscasis, David Laner and Daniel Erlacher were absent for Val Pusteria. The game was immediately fought. Cortina hit the post with Riley Brace but then, minute after minute, Pustertal grew a lot as they scored three goals with a very similar dynamic that surprised the hosts. Lukas Tauber scored the first goal with a deflection in the front of the net. Then Maximilian Lancsar doubled up similarly to the first goal. Then after 16 minutes the third goal of Anthony Di Casmirro arrived in this case with a deflection under the net after a diagonal pass. In the second period the Wolves controlled the return of the opponents who then put a lot of pressure on Thomas Tragust from the middle of the match. In the third time, the Wolves still controlled the Cortina. Max Oberrauch closed the match thanks to the 4: 0. The Pustertal, thus, maintained the fourth position in the AHL and earned, with two round in advance, the qualification to the Final Four Scudetto of the IHL Elite. The Val Pusteria goalkeeper, Thomas Tragust, earned the fourth shutout of the season.
