EK Die Zeller Eisbären - HC Gherdeina valgardena.it
Zell am See had to admit defeat to Jesenice in its last game of the year and thus relinquished the lead in the table to the Slovenians. The team from Pinzgau are on course for direct play-off qualification, as they are already 14 points ahead of sixth place. With 30 points from 13 games, they are also the best home team in the league. HC Gardena ended their losing streak on Monday with an overtime win against Sterzing. However, the South Tyroleans are still bottom of the table. The first duel of the season went to Zell am See with 5:2.

HC Meran/o Pircher - Rittner Buam SkyAlps
Ritten recently recorded two victories, with the reigning champions scoring ten goals in the games against Unterland and Gardena. Now the second-best away team in the league heads to Merano. The eagles, on the other hand, have been beaten three times in a row and are currently in eighth place - nine points behind the Masterround places. The two teams have already faced each other twice this season, with each home teams winning.

Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel - S.G. Cortina Hafro
Fourth against fifth on the first matchday of the new year. Both Kitzbühel and Cortina have won their last two games. The Tyroleans currently have the best offence in the league, scoring 23 goals in their last four games. Cortina, on the other hand, have been strong defensively, conceding just four goals in their last three games. The Italians won the first duel of the season 4:2.

KHL Sisak - HK RST Pellet Celje
Sisak led the table after ten games, but now the Croatians are only in sixth place. The league newcomers have won only three of twelve games since mid-November. Celje recently suffered five defeats in a row and dropped to tenth place. The Croatians won the first duel of the season 5:1 away from home.

Hockey Unterland Cavaliers - Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan
Only three points separate Unterland (9th place) and Sterzing (7th place) - the Cavaliers have also played two games less. Both teams conceded defeats in their last game of the year. They have already faced each other twice this season - both times in Sterzing. While Unterland won the first encounter, the Broncos came out on top three days ago.

SIJ Acroni Jesenice - HC Meran/o Pircher
On Friday, league leaders Jesenice will also play their first game of 2025. After seven AHL wins in a row, the Slovenians will go into their clash with Merano full of confidence.
