The Geier twins continue with EC-KAC

The Geier twins will defend the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga championship with the EC-KAC. Both enlarged their contract for one more year and head into their twelfth season with Klagenfurt.

For eleven years Manuel and Stefan Geier are part of the EC-KAC, playing 1.227 games together and winning three championships each. The 31-year-old twins enlarged their contract for one more season and head into their twelfth season with Klagenfurt. 

„As you all know, two difficult years are behind me, and I am very thankful about the opportunity to get a new contract at Klagenfurt. This motivates me immensely to continue the good path of rehabilitation of the past few months to get back on the ice as soon as possible. If I am not ready at the season start, the AHL farm team of the EC-KAC offers me the ideal platform to get back in a good shape”, Manuel Geier said.

He contested in 606 Erste Bank Eishockey Liga games, posting 244 points (97 G | 147 A). Further, Manuel Geier showed up 55 times for the Austrian national team, including four participations at World Championships. On the other hand, Stefan Geier played 621 games for Klagenfurt so far, collecting 216 points (92 G | 124 A) and challenging at three World Championships. 

General Manager Oliver Pilloni about the contract extension of the Geier twins: „Manuel and Stefan Geier are irrevocable for our club, after both are a supporting pillar for more than one decade. Especially Stefan proved his importance for the team during past season’s final series with scoring two game winning goals. Due to an injury Manuel has to difficult years behind, in which he always stayed focused on coming back on the ice.”
