These players were the key players in the first two quarterfinals

Rick Schofield, Hunter Fejes, Riley Holzapfel, Dominik Grafenthin, Marco Insam and Bud Holloway have one thing in common: they scored several times in one playoff game. The only player to score in both games was EC-KAC's Andrew Kozek. But despite the goals of the 33-year-old, the defending champion lost both games.

A total of five players scored two goals in the first quarterfinal. Linz's Rick Schofield and Hunter Fejes scored twice in the 6:3 away win at the EC-KAC. For the Canadian Schofield, it were already goals 20 and 21 in the playoffs of the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga.

Holzapfel scored most goals in one playoff-campaign
In the first meeting between the spusu Vienna Capitals and the Moser Medical Graz99ers, Riley Holzapfel (VIC) and Dominik Grafenthin (G99) were the stars of the game with a double pack. Riley Holzapfel plays already his fourth season in Vienna and shone especially in his debut playoffs (2017) where he scored twelve goals in twelve games and thus was one of the key players in the last title of the Capitals. To date, no player in the league history has scored more goals in one season in the playoffs.

Kozek only player with goal in both games
Also with a double pack at the first quarter-finals, Marco Insam from HCB Südtirol Alperia shone. The 30-year-old is already playing his ninth season for the South Tyroleans and won the championship with Bolzano in 2013/14. With Andrew Kozek from EC-KAC, only one player scored in both games. But despite the goals ten and eleven of the 33-year-old, the defending champion lost both games against the EHC Liwest Black Wings Linz.

Holloway was the only one to score a hattrick
EC Red Bull Salzburg's Canadian Bud Holloway is the only player to have scored three times in one game in the 7:2 away win at the EC Panaceo VSV. In his debut season for the bulls, the 32-year-old Canadian has a total of 15 goals and 17 assists.
