EC GRAND Immo VSV had to do without Michael Raffl, who was slightly injured, against Fehervar. In addition, the team was again coached by Marco Pewal, as the newly hired head coach Rob Daum only arrived in Villach directly from Canada during the third period. The home side started the game with a lot of momentum, but the Hungarians took the lead right away on the first power play through Daniel Szabo (6th). Through goals by Chris Collins (17th) and Sahir Gill (26th), the Carinthians even turned the game around in the meantime. But Csanad Erdely equalised in the middle period. Michael Caruso put the guests in the lead again shortly after the restart. Then the special teams of the Hungarians provided the final decision: Tamas Sarpatki scored in a shorthanded situation and a powerplay goal by Istvan Bartalis meant the 6:3 final score. Thus Fehervar also won the second road game at VSV this season. With the second away win in a row, head coach Antti Karhula's team moved up to third place. Villach, on the other hand, suffered their third home defeat within five days and are still second from last in the table.

Innsbruck again successful against Black Wings
In the second game of the day, HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie also won the second duel of the season against Steinbach Black Wings 1992. After a great Gerlach pass, defender Kevin Tansey opened the scoring already in the third minute. After twelve minutes, Christof Kromp served a 2+2 minute penalty. First Braden Christoffer increased the lead to 2:0, but still within the penalties the Upper Austrians equalised through Alex Lahoda and Andreas Kristler. In the middle period Dragan Umicevic even turned the game in favour of the guests. But Sam Herr put the score at 3:3 only a short time later. Three goals in the final period put the home side on the winning track. First, Tansey scored a brace. A great solo run by Colton Saucerman in powerplay and another goal by Daniel Ciampini made the final score 6:3. While the Tyroleans remain in eighth place, the Black Wings are at the bottom of the table.
