Bratislava defeats second league rival
The iClinic Bratislava Capitals also won their second preseason game against a rival from the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League, as the newcomer defeated the Moser Medical Graz99ers 4:1. While Slovak’s roster was full, Graz was missing five regulars: Oliver Setzinger, Daniel Oberkofler, Parker MacKay, Dominik Grafenthin and Ken Ograjensek. Already in the fourth minute of the game, the guests took the lead with a Nemcik shot. Despite Graz’ netminder Ben Bowns did great in the opening frame, the guests doubled up on powerplay.

Graz then missed a power play at the beginning of the second period - and promptly the guests scored twice: Tibor Varga (25.) and Lukas Lipiansky (26.) brought the preliminary decision. Then Felix Nussbacher came in to cover Graz’ net and Kevin Moderer scored 99ers lone goal on powerplay. The game remained scoreless and Bratislava booked its third consecutive preseason win.

Bolzano upgrades defensive squad
The defensive lines of the HCB Südtirol Alperia have been supplemented with two more players. While the contract with Gregorio Gios was extended, the Italo-Canadian Dylan Di Perna is new on the team. The 21-year-old Gregorio Gios, who was trained in Asiago, joined Bolzano very late in the past season. Until the championship was cancelled, the defender only played three regular season games. Between 2014 and 2019, the Italian international spent several seasons in Finland and the USA. With Dylan Di Perna, the South Tyroleans signed another Italian-Canadian. The 24-year-old Defender is going into his first season in Europe. In the last three campaigns he played for Saint Mary's University, for which he scored a total of 55 scorer points.
