With scoring his 800th point in the 6:1-win of EC-KAC at the Dornbirn Bulldogs, Thomas Koch reached another milestone in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga. Leader EC Red Bull Salzburg outclassed the HC TWK Innsbruck “Die Haie” 8:2, as captain Thomas Raffl had his fourth consecutive game with at least two goals, while EC Panaceo VSV climed to second place in standings, after a 4:0-shoutout-win against Moser Medical Graz99ers. Further, the HC Orli Znojmo and the HCB Südtirol Alperia each came back after trailing early.
Koch reaches milestone, posts 800th point
In tonight’s 6:1 clear-cut win for EC-KAC at the Dornbirn Bulldogs Thomas Koch collected one goal and one assist to reach his 800th point in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga. With scoring one goal too, Andrew Kozek posted his 300th point. The reigning champion cleared it against the youngest team of the leageu in the first 9,5 minutes, scoring three goals. After Stefan Häussle pulled one back for the bottom-placed team, which suffered the ninth consecutive defeat, Klagenfurt again scored three unanswered goals for the third win at Vorarlberg with a five-goal-difference.
Maxwell celebrates shutout in 50th VSV-win against Graz
With a clear 4:0 shutout-win, the EC Panaceo VSV grabbed its 50th win against the Moser Medical Graz99ers in Erste Bank Eishockey Liga history. Netminder Brandon Maxwell had his first shutout, giving the “eagles” second spot in standings after the 10th round, while Graz lost for the third time in a row. After Karlsson gave the home-team an early lead, they dominated the game – and Jerry Pollastrone, who sored in the third consecutive game, doubled up in the second. Two goals at the beginning of the third made the preliminary decision in a game, where Graz lost Joakim Hillding due to a facial injury.
Thomas Raffl extends scoring-streak
With a hat trick in the 8:2 clear-cut win for EC Red Bull Salzburg at HC TWK Innsbruck "die Haie", Thomas Raffl extended his scoring streak. For the fourth time in a row he made more than two goals a game. Tonight, he had one assist too. After Innsbruck turned around the early deficit with goals of Sedivy and Lammers within 35 seconds in the first, Salzburg became much better in the second and third and celebrated a huge road-win in the end. With the eighth season-win, Salzburg fastened top-position in standings.
Anthony Bardaro scores Bolzano’s 400th road-goal in regular season
With Bolzano’s first goal of the night scored by Anthony Bardaro, the South Tyrolean got the 400th road-goal in a regular season game in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga. After trailing one, when Andrew Yogan lit the lamp after 19 seconds, four unanswered goals – three within 2,5 minutes in the first – got the “foxes” on winning ways, as they defeated Hydro Fehérvár AV19 4:3 in the end. The Hungarian side suffered its 6th consecutive defeat.
Znojmo tops Linz in overtime
With turning around a two-goal deficit, the HC Orli Znojmo celebrated a tight 4:3 home-win after overtime against EHC LIWEST Black Wings Linz to defend fifth place in standings. After six minutes the game was tied at one, as Lebler retook the lead for the guests with his second of the night and Dan DaSilva made it more comfortable early in the second. But the hosts tied it, got them in overtime, where Parker Bowles decided the game.
