"Thomas Koch is without a doubt an exceptional player, in addition to his sporting excellence, his professionalism and his unchanged meticulous work ethic should also be highlighted. These factors enable him to continue to bring top performances to the ice, which decisively strengthen our team. Accordingly, we are very happy that we are moving into the future together with Thomas Koch, because like our organization, he is also driven by the ambition to celebrate further successes," said General Manager Oliver Pilloni, explaining the continuation of the cooperation with the long-time leading player.

Although Thomas Koch will already celebrate his 39th birthday before the start of the upcoming season, the native of Klagenfurt is still a key player in the KAC team: In the nine matches of the 2022 playoffs, no other KAC forward was on the ice longer per game on average than him (21:09 minutes).

"I am happy to the same extent as proud that I can continue to wear the jersey of the EC-KAC. The club has the longest and most successful history of any ice hockey club in Austria and it is an honor to be able to play a part in continuing this history," commented Thomas Koch on his future in red and white.
