HC TIWAG Innsbruck welcomed the spusu Vienna Capitals after seven wins in a row, but also the Caps left the ice as winners five times in a row. After a scoreless first period, the visitors took command in the middle period and gained the lead in the 25th minute through Nikolai Meyer. The top scorer of the Viennese even increased the lead to 0:2 in the 34th minute. In the final period, the team of head coach Dave Barr did not allow anything for a long time. In their only powerplay of the game, the Caps went up 0:3 again through Meyer, who celebrated his hat trick. First, a late Bourque goal prevented a possible shutout of Bernhard Starkbaum. With 14 seconds to go, the Tyroleans even came within one goal, but the score remained at 2:3. While the winning streak of the now fourth-placed Tyroleans came to an end, the Caps (rank 6) celebrated their sixth success in a row - four times the Viennese kept the upper hand with only one goal difference.

Fehervar comes close to Olimpija
Also in the top match between leader HK SZ Olimpija and the first chaser Hydro Fehervar AV 19 no goals were scored in the first period. The Hungarians took the lead shortly after the restart through Balint Magosi, Josh Atkinson even increased to 0:2 in the 30th minute. The Slovenians put pressure on in the final period, but were only rewarded for their offensive efforts 26 seconds before the end through a Tomazevic goal. The comeback almost succeeded, but an offside position prevented the supposed equalizer ten seconds before the siren. The narrow away win brought the Hungarians to within a point of the leaders.

Victories after extra session for Salzburg and Bolzano
EC Red Bull Salzburg won the away game at EC-KAC with 3:2 after overtime. After a brace by Thomas Hundertpfund in the first period, Jakub Borzecki and Benjamin Nissner equalized for the visitors. In overtime, TJ Brennan scored the winner for Salzburg - in the second duel of the season with the reigning champions, the Red Bulls, who moved up to third place, thus achieved their first victory. Both teams play in the CHL round of 16 after the international break. HCB Südtirol Alperia, who recorded the only home win on Sunday, is also in Champions Hockey League action soon. The South Tyroleans defeated EC GRAND Immo VSV with 3:2 after shootout. After both teams led once in regulation time, Angelo Miceli decided the game in favor of the hosts in the eleventh round of the shootout. While the runners-up, who remain in fifth place, celebrated their third home win in a row, Villach were defeated in Bolzano for the ninth time in a row.
