League leader EC-KAC won 4:2 at tenth-placed BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg and are now four points ahead of first pursuer Fehérvár. In a hard-fought game in Feldkirch, the home side took the lead with Alexander Pallestrang's first goal of the season (6.). Manuel Ganahl equalized for the KAC still in the first period. It then took until the 45th minute before the next goal was scored. Johannes Bischofberger made it 2:1 for the visitors, but the Pioneers replied promptly through Joonas Oden. The Vorarlberg team even had the chance to take the lead in the power play shortly after the equalizer, but conceded the goal to make it 2:3 after losing possession in their own zone and a goal by Thomas Hundertpfund. Jan Mursak scored an empty-net goal 58 seconds before the end to make it 4:2. It was Klagenfurt's eighth win from the last ten games. The Pioneers have only won one of their last five encounters, but are still in the last Pre-Playoff spot and have a comfortable eight points lead over Vienna. However, the Viennes can reduce the gap to five points with a win against Graz on Tuesday, as Vorarlberg is free from play.

Linz gets the extra point in Innsbruck

The Steinbach Black Wings Linz ended a four-game losing streak with a 5:4/SO win at the HC TIWAG Innsbruck. The team in sixth place in the table, which now has the same number of points as seventh-placed Villach, was already trailing 2:4, but also leading with 1:0 and 2:1 in the meantime. BWL top scorer Graham Knott tied the game right at the start of the final period. It was the Canadian's second goal of the evening and his first goals since December 2 and nine games without scoring. In Stefan Gaffal's comeback after almost four months injury break and Marco Brucker's 700th ICE game, Logan Roe and Niklas Würschl also got on the scoresheet for the Black Wings. Emilio Romig scored the decisive penalty. Gordon Green impressed for the HCI with a brace. For the Tyroleans, who are fourth in the table, it was their first defeat after three wins in a row and only one of two defeats in their last ten encounters.

Olimpija without problems in Graz

The HK SZ Olimpija confirmed their strong form with a clear 6:1 away win at bottom of the table Moser Medical Graz99ers and are now already 16 points ahead of eleventh place in the table and only seven points behind the top six. Chris Dodero scored in the tenth minute to take the lead in their seventh win from the last ten games. After Sam Antonitsch equalized, the Slovenians pulled away to 4:1 by the end of the second period. Luka Vodlan then scored twice in the final period to set the final score. It was the 20-year-old center's first brace of his ICE career.
