Villach continued their impressive run at Fehérvár. The “Eagles” kept the upper hand with 3:2 and celebrated their eighth win in a row. The visitors took a 2:0 lead after just 14 minutes thanks to goals from John Hughes (9.) and Alexander Rauchenwald (14.), but the league leader responded in the second period, equalizing with goals from Istvan Bartalis (34.) and Anze Kuralt (36.). In the final period it went back and forth, Fehérvár even had more chances to score (10:7), but only the visitors from Carinthia scored through Max Coatta (47.). Fehérvár thus suffered one of its two defeats in the last five games and is now just one point ahead of its closest rival HCB Südtirol Alperia in the table. Villach remain sixth in the table, level on points with fifth-placed Salzburg and seventh-placed local rivals EC-KAC.

Bolzano struggles to an away win at the Pioneers
Bolzano missed out on catching up with Fehérvár on points at the Pioneers Vorarlberg. The South Tyroleans narrowly retained the upper hand with a 5:4/SO win and celebrated one of ten victories from the last twelve games. The team from Vorarlberg, who are bottom of the table, conceded one of their ten defeats from the last eleven games, but showed improvement, especially in offense. Goals from Luca Erne and Josh Passolt put the team with the weakest offense before this matchday 2:0 ahead after just eight minutes. In the end, they went into the first period break with a 3:2 lead. Only the visitors got on the scoreboard once in the second period and the Foxes even took the lead for the first time in the 51st minute. However, the Pioneers got back into the game with a goal from Daniel Woger (55.) and forced a shootout at the end. In this, only Bolzano's third shooter, Daniel Mantenuto, was able to convert his penalty.

Home win for the KAC against Olimpija
The EC-KAC won against Olimpija Ljubljana 3:1 and inflicted the Slovenian in eight place the sixth defeat in a row. For the KAC who remain in seventh place but are now thirteen points ahead of Ljubljana, it was one of four wins from their last five games. In an evenly-matched game, Nick Petersen gave the home side the lead in the 21st minute. The narrow lead for the KAC lasted until 15 minutes before the end, when Blaz Gregorc equalized for Olimpija. But Klagenfurt were unimpressed and just six minutes later Raphael Herburger gave the KAC the lead again. With just under three minutes remaining, it was captain Thomas Hundertpfund who scored the final goal. Florian Vorauer impressed in goal for the KAC with 27 saves. It was the fourth appearance of the season for the 25-year-old from Klagenfurt.

Clear away win for Graz
The Moser Medical Graz99ers won 4:1 at HC TIWAG Innsbruck. After a goalless first period, the fourth-placed team from Styria, who celebrated their second win in a row, took the lead in the 24th minute. However, the home side, who remain in twelfth place, responded promptly (27.). In the end, however, Innsbruck suffered their eighth defeat in the last ten games, as Tim Harnisch scored first to give the 99ers the lead again (37.) and Michael Schiechl made everything clear with a brace in the final period (51., 60./EN). It was the 35-year-old forward's second brace of the season.
