Anthony Bardaro (#81) of Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey, time 58:43, made contact with an opponent deemed as Elbowing IIHF Rule 139. The video evidence was sent to the AHL Player Safety Committee (PSC), which determined the incident to be worthy of supplementary discipline - Category 2 – 'Reckless’.

According to the Arbitrator and having considered the video evidence and ruling of the AHL PSC, player Anthony Bardaro (#81) Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey, will receive supplementary discipline under rule 139 – Elbowing.

On March 18th, in Asiago, (#81) Anthony Bardaro of Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey, made a body check deemed illegal and worthy of supplementary discipline. The incident was sent to the AHL PSC and determined supplementary disciple is required under Category 2 - Reckless.

A proper body check is, in part, defined by contact through the use of the shoulder or hip to the opposing player. Simply put, Anthony Bardaro had the opportunity to deliver a legal body check and did not. Instead, he resorted to a means or attempt to do more than separate the puck from the puck carrier and instead check to separate the puck carrier from the game.

As seen on the video, Anthony Bardaro loaded up before the check. Visible by his bottom hand (right arm) separating from his stick and cocking his right arm back to have the ability to use his arm/elbow for additional force. The reason for supplementary discipline, is the right arm was the force and the primary contact point to deliver the check (no shoulder or body). The right arm of Anthony Bardaro, separated from his body, exploded up and into the head of the opposing player. There was minimal to no body contact and instead used his body in a left turning motion, which added to the majority of force through the right elbow, to the head/neck area of opposing player. The opposing player did sustain an apparent injury.

Effective immediately, Anthony Bardaro (#81) Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey is suspended for 3 games.
