Three games suspension for Dominic Haberl

Dominic Haberl (#92) of EHC Lustenau, time 59:59, made contact with an on-ice official deemed as Physical Abuse of Officials , IIHF Rule 40. Based on the officials report, it is determined the incident to be worthy of supplementary discipline - Category 2 - Any Player who deliberately applies physical force to an Official in any manner (excluding actions as set out in Category I), which physical force is applied without intent to injure, or who spits on an Official.

Thursday night, October 12th, in Kitzbühel, Lustenau forward #92 Dominic Haberl was involved in an incident, deemed as Physical Abuse of Officials. Resulting in a game-misconduct penalty being assessed under suspension category 2.

Dominic Haberl was serving a penalty in the penalty box. After Kitzbühel scored the game tying goal, Dominc Haberl opened the door of the penalty box on his own and started to rush towards the referee, who was located almost at center-ice. One of the linesmen noticed this incident and was able to position himself between Dominic Haberl and the referee. In the immediate vicinity of the referee, the linesman received a shove from Dominic Haberl, so that the linesman was pushed onto the referee. Apart from the fact that Dominic Haberl is not allowed to open the penalty bench door on his own, the further behavior, especially the push against the linesman, is not acceptable. This behavior has no place in sports and are not to be tolerated.

Effective immediately, the Alps Hockey League Department of Player Safety has suspended Dominic Haberl for 3 games.
