VSV's overtime streak began on October 4 with a 4-3 home loss to the Vienna Capitals, as Nicholas Bailen netted the game-winner in the 65th minute. Five days later, the Eagles came out on top in another overtime thriller, with Elias Wallenta scoring in the 64th minute to secure a 4-3 home win over HCB Südtirol Alperia. Most recently, on October 11, VSV fell 3-2 on the road against HC TIWAG Innsbruck, with Connor Mayer sealing the win for the hosts in the 62nd minute.

Bolzano has been working overtime, too! The Foxes kicked off their run of extra-time games on October 4 with a 4-3 shootout win over FTC-Telekom Budapest. On October 9, they suffered a 4-3 overtime loss on the road against VSV. Just two days later, Bolzano bounced back in the Italian derby against Milano, claiming a 4-3 overtime victory on the road. Cole Schneider played the hero, scoring the game-winner in the 63rd minute.

Will either team need a fourth straight extra shift? VSV will be looking to get back in the win column when they host the Moser Medical Graz99ers, while Bolzano faces another challenge on the road against Olimpija Ljubljana. There's also some welcome news for the Eagles: Defenseman Thomas Vallant is set to make his season debut in a VSV jersey.
