Three home wins and the second consecutive success for the foxes on the road

While Graz, Salzburg and Klagenfurt celebrated home wins in the 29th round of Erste Bank Eishockey Liga, the HCB Südtirol Alperia booked the second consecutive road win within 24 hours.

Clear victory for Red Bulls
Both teams focused on defense in the starting minutes of the game. Salzburg took control but had difficulties to break the VSV-defense. After a couple of big chances Florian Baltram took the lead for Salzburg. In the beginning of the second period the Red Bulls increased intensity Martin Stajnoch doubled the lead, before Thomas Raffl increased to 3:0 after a perfect pass of Ryan Duncan. After that Villach created some chances as well, but didn’t manage to score. In the final period the Red Bulls dominated in the beginning. Martin Stajnoch scored the 1.000th EBEL goal this season for the 4:0. Peter Mueller and Thomas Raffl even increased the lead to 6:0, before the VSV started with some “cosmetics” on the result.  Patrick Platzer and Andrew Sarauer created the result of 6:2.
 
99ers capture win in final period
Both teams created good chances right from the beginning. Evan Brophey opened the scoring for the hosts after a rebound. Brophey even increased the lead still in the first period, he deflected a shot of Oliver Setzinger for the 2:0. But Linz fought back into the game: Corey Locke converted a powerplay and Dan DaSilva tied the game. In the second period both teams played a slid Defense and didn’t grant many chances. In the 35th minute Fabio Hofer captured the lead for his team for the first time. The 99ers had good opportunities during a 5 on 3 powerplay, but couldn’t score. In the final period both teams had good chances right from the beginning. The 99ers took control but had to wait for the 55th minute to equalize the game. This time Jonathan Carlsson converted the 5 on 3 powerplay. Only 43 seconds later Brock Higgs found the decisision and created the result of 4:3 for the 99ers.

Second road-win for Bozen within 24 hours
Angelo Micelli opened the scoring of this nights games. In the 7ths minute the forward converted a rebound after a shot of Alexander Petan. The bears created many chances but all their shots were stopped either by Pekka Tuokkola or blocked by the defenders. In the first break Christopher DeSousa and TomZanoski had a tough fight on their way to the locker rooms and got a 5 + 20 minutes penalty. In the second period the bears increased the intensity, but didn’t manage to break the defense of the foxes. In the final period Harri Tikkanen stopped Alexander Petan against the rules on a break away. Kevin Pouilin proofed his reactions and saved the penalty. Zagreb increased pressure. The fans already celebrated the equalizer, but the goal of Tyler Morley was denied after the referees used the video-goal-judging-system. But Morley kept pressuring and scored a regular goal only moments later. The Foxes had the perfect answer: Angelo Micelli scored in powerplay for the lead. Zagreb tried to come with six players to the success but without success.
 
KAC is back on the road of success
The EC-KAC started with high intensity. Manuel Ganahl had the first chance after only 55 seconds. But only moments later, Johannes Bischofberger captured the lead. Znojmo tried to fight back and had some good moments, but David Madlener proofed his reactions. Shortly before the end of the first period Ganahl doubled the lead. The KAC had the second period fully under control. But it was Marek Schwarz who prohibited his team from further goals. Znojmo tried to put pressure on the KAC in the final period, but the redjackets played cleverly. Jonathan Rheault succeeded with an empty-netter for the result of 3:0.
