Salzburg Secures Four Match Pucks
EC Red Bull Salzburg remains unstoppable against Hydro Fehérvár AV19. The defending champs notched their seventh straight win of the season – and third consecutive playoff victory – to secure four match pucks for a spot in the semifinals. Meanwhile, Hydro Fehérvár AV19 is on the brink of their fourth playoff exit at the hands of Salzburg in as many attempts. After a scoreless opening period, the Red Bulls took control in the second frame. Peter Schneider broke the deadlock on the powerplay, scoring from an almost impossible angle. Benjamin Nissner doubled the lead, also on the man advantage. The Bullen played a poised, disciplined game and never allowed Fehérvár a chance to mount a comeback, closing out a 2-0 win. Goaltender Atte Tolvanen recorded his second consecutive shutout, backstopping his team to another crucial victory. With the reigning champs now just one win away from the semifinals, they could wrap up the series as early as Sunday in Székesfehérvár.

KAC Dominates Game 3
After HC Pustertal evened the series on Tuesday, EC-KAC responded with a dominant home performance. With their third straight win on home ice, the Rotjacken now lead the best-of-seven series 2-1. EC-KAC controlled the game from the get-go, and Fabian Hochegger opened the scoring in the 12th minute with his first playoff goal of the season. By the second period, the hosts had taken full command of the game. Goals from David Maier, Matt Fraser, and Nick Pastujov stretched the lead to 4-0, putting the contest out of reach early. Pustertal managed to get on the board in the third period through Viktor Svedberg, but KAC never wavered and closed out a commanding 6-2 win. Defenseman David Maier recorded his first career two-goal game in the win2day ICE Hockey League, capping off a stellar performance.

Bolzano Takes Down VSV
HCB Südtirol Alperia secured a crucial 3-1 home victory over EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV on Friday night, reclaiming the series lead in their best-of-seven quarterfinal matchup. The Villach squad actually struck first, with Marco Richter beating Sam Harvey five-hole in the 18th minute to give the visitors a 1-0 lead. However, Simon Bourque answered back in the second period to tie the game. In a hard-fought final frame, Cole Hults delivered the go-ahead goal for the Foxes. Shortly after, Bolzano capitalized on a powerplay opportunity, extending their lead to 3-1 and sealing the Game 3 win. VSV now trails in the series for the second time but will have a chance to respond on Sunday.
