Win2day ICE Hockey League | 11.03.2024 | QF5 | Schedule:
Mon, 11.03.2024, 7.15 pm: EC-KAC – BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg
Referees: GROZNIK, ZRNIC, Hribar, Mantovani. | >> live.ice.hockey <<
„best-of-7“ series: 3:1
After the surprising opening defeat, the EC-KAC has recently earned its first chance to reach the semifinals with three wins in a row. The "Rotjacken" have reached the semifinals four times in the last five years. Klagenfurt have never relinquished a 3-1 series lead in their play-off history, and in 14 of 15 cases they have ended the respective confrontation with a win in the fifth duel.

The EC-KAC has been very strong defensively so far: with 164 minutes without a goal against and a total of just three goals conceded in four games, the "Rotjacken" have yet to concede a goal while shorthanded. However, the BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg need a win to extend their quarterfinal series and an improvement on the offensive end: After the team led by ICE top scorer Steven Owre had the best power play in the Regular Season (26.3%), they have not yet been able to score a goal in the series against Klagenfurt with numerical superiority.

The Klagenfurt side is therefore planning for the fifth clash with the Pioneers Vorarlberg with exactly the same lineup they used for the away game on Saturday. The KAC will be without Sablattnig and Herburger. The Vorarlberg team will have to make do without Daniel Woger due to injury. Patrick Spannring is still suspended.

Mon, 11.03.2024, 7.15 pm: Hydro Fehérvár AV19 – HC Pustertal Wölfe
Referees: FICHTNER, HRONSKY, Durmis, Konc. | >> live.ice.hockey <<
„best-of-7“ series: 2:2
Hydro Fehérvár AV19 and HC Pustertal Wölfe will battle for the series lead on Monday evening. Both teams have won their home games so far. All four encounters were decided by just one goal difference, and twice it took overtime to decide the winner. In Székesfehérvár, HC Pustertal can once again call on Daniel Catenacci, who has already scored four goals this postseason before serving a two-game suspension. The Hungarians have won all of their last seven home games and have also won the last four meetings with the "Wolves" on home ice.

Mon, 11.03.2024, 7.30 pm: EC Red Bull Salzburg – Steinbach Black Wings Linz
Referees: HUBER, STERNAT, Gatol-Schafranek, Nothegger. | >> PULS 24 LIVE <<
“best-of-7” series: 3:1
Defending champions EC Red Bull Salzburg also have a chance to reach the semifinals on Monday. The third-placed team from the Regulars season leads the best-of-7 quarter-final series against the Steinbach Black Wings 3-1. The Red Bulls have always reached the semi-finals since 2013. Linz is playing against the end of the season; the Upper Austrians won their first elimination game against Bolzano in the previous season. Linz still has potential on the power play in the postseason, scoring just two goals from 17 overtime situations. Salzburg is much more efficient with 27.8%.
Mon, 11.03.2024, 7.45 pm: HCB Südtirol Alperia – EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV

Referees: OFNER, PIRAGIC, Riecken, Snoj. | >> live.ice.hockey <<
“best-of-7” series: 3:1
HCB Südtirol Alperia will be competing for their sixth semifinal series in the win2day ICE Hockey League on Monday. The South Tyroleans are 3-1 ahead in their best-of-7 series against EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV. While Scott Valentine returns for Bolzano, Villach will be without the suspended Maxime Golod and Andrew Desjardins. But the "Adler" already found their playoff form on Saturday and earned their first win at home with a 6-1 victory. While John Hughes also scored in his fourth consecutive postseason game, Blaz Tomazevic scored three times. The Slovenian was not in the lineup for the first three quarterfinal games. Bolzano is particularly dangerous on the power play in the playoffs: 35.3% is their strong figure with one man more on the ice. Villach are missing Kulda, Richter, Rebernig and Wieltschnig through injury. After conceding six goals on Saturday, Bolzano goalie Sam Harvey can make way for Gianluca Vallini on Monday: The back-up got 14 appearances this season and showed up with a save percentage of 93.4%.
