HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice, EC Bregenzerwald and HC Gherdeina valgardena.it celebrated clear wins in Alps Hockey League on Wednesday. Besides WSV Sterzing Broncos Weihenstephan was successful.

Wed, 15.11.2017: HC Neumarkt Riwega – HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice 0:4 (0:0; 0:2; 0:2)
The first period was very balanced. Both teams played a very fast game and with so many actions but the goals didn’t arrive. Neumarkt was very focused on defense while Jesenice failed to express himself in attack zone. The period finished without any goal but the game was interesting for energy on the both side of the rink. During the second period, the two teams still played an open game that was still fast and free of penalties. Exactly in the middle of the game Jesenice made the first goal of the evening with a counterattack of Urban Sodja while six minutes later the Slovenian team doubled. Zan Jezovske turned to the door as he surprised Daniel Morandell with a strong shot. The visitors closed the second half on the double advantage thanks also to the saves of a Clarke Saunders. During the third period, Neumarkt was looking for the first goal, but the Slovenian team has increased its lead in the middle of the period. After a long powerplay action, Luka Kalan achieved 3: 0, a goal that seemed already decisive in the economy of the game. When were missing 28 seconds to the end of the third period, Jesenice scored the empty goal with Erik Svetina. The Red Steelers won 4:0. Saunders celebrated the third shutout since the start of the season.
 
Wed, 15.11.2017: EC Bregenzerwald – EK Zeller Eisbären 6:1 (2:1,0:0,4:0)
EC Bregenzerwald welcomed EK Zeller Eisbären. The Polar Bears arrived with their new signings Kolar and Koblar, who played together in a line with Vala. This line tested quickly goalie Misa Pietilä. But the goal was scored quickly on the other side: Daniel Ban beat Patrick Machreich. Then a goal from Christian Haidinger was not allowed by the referees, because of interference. But the next goal came just one minute later: Simeon Schwinger beat goalie Machreich over the shoulder – 2:0. Late in the period the Pinzgauer took advantage from a mistake in the ECB-defense, Dinhopel beat Pietilä after a solo. In period 2 the Vorarlberger were the chiefs on the ice, but even when playing in Power Play goalie Machreich was not to beat from several shots. In period 3 Christian Ban poked in a free puck for the 3:1. The gustes tried to come back, but with two shorthanded goals and one Power Play goal within just 150 seconds in the final minutes the Vorarlberger fixed the win.
 
Wed, 15.11.2017: HC Gherdeina valgardena.it – HC Fassa Falcons 6:4 (1:1; 2:0: 3:0)
First match for the new players of Gherdeina who come during the international break. Colin Long and Linus Lundström returned to play in the Italian championship. It was Colin Long who made the first home goal in favor of the host after 12 minutes of the period. Fassa tie with Andrea Odorizzi, a young player at his first goal in a pro championship. The first half, however, was played very carefully by the two teams and ended in equal. In the second half the home team proved to be very active in attack. First there was the powerplay’s goal of Simon Pitschieler and then it came the goal of the newcomer. Linus Lundström scored after a penalty shot. During the third period, the home team was growing in the score with special teams. Gabriel Vinatzer (shorthanded) and Derek Eastman (powerplay) allowed to Gherdeina to reach five goals. But the last minutes of play were all to be written. Samuel Rothstein and again Andrea Odorizzi (special night for 18 years old) shortened the gap between the two team thanks two goal in powerplay but Gherdeina broke any attempt to come back of the Falcons with the goal of Samuel Moroder. Jari Monferone scored the final goal of the game. Fassa found the sixth consecutive defeat. Gherdeina come back to victory (6:4).

One of the best qualities were the defense for two teams. It should not be surprising that the first period ended with no goals as hat there have been few episodes few episodes to warm the fans. Indeed, there were mistakes on both sides of the rink. But in the middle time the music changes. Vipiteno took the lead, as Danny Deanesi deflected down the puck after 3 minutes. Asiago replied with a siege at Gianluca Vallini's net, but the Italian national goalkeeper saved and saved a lot of shot (23).  During the third time Greg Nyren come back on the ice after 4 minutes of penalties (it started the penalty in the 2th period). The defenseman made 2:0 in counter-attack for Sterzing after a minute of play. Asiago put the maximum effort and pressure to reopen the game but Vallini was absolutely monumental. Then after 5 'there was the first goal of Asiago: there was a deviation under the net of Federico Pace on the shot from the blue line of Phil Pietroniro. Then Asiago tried to tie but the game was of Vipiteno who won for 2:1.
