Six games are scheduled in the Alps Hockey League on Thursday before the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan make their debut in Brixen in the only Friday game. After the tragic roof collapse in Sterzing, where fortunately nobody was injured, the Broncos had to move their home ground and welcome Red Bull Hockey Juniors for their opener.

EC KAC II will face HC Gherdeina for the first time this season on Thursday. Both teams are currently below the red line for the pre-playoffs and need success to not lose touch with the top-12. The Klagenfurt team recently suffered two defeats against top-4 teams, but kept the games against the favored teams open for a long time. Before that, the young KAC team celebrated a success over the Rittner Buam. HC Gherdeina also had to admit defeat in the last two games. They lost against an Austrian team in each case, after two wins in a row. For Gherdeina it is the fifth games against a red-white-red team in a row.

These two teams face each other for the first time this season. In the perennial duel record, the Eagles have prevailed two times so far. Kitzbühel prevailed against Gherdeina just a few days ago. Asiago already has a winning streak of five games in a row.

In game VEU Feldkirch vs HC Pustertal the currently eighth placed team meets a top-3 team. This encounter also takes place for the first time in the current season. The Broncos celebrated in their last game in Sterzing, a 5:4 victory over Kitzbühel.
