The visitors kept the tempo throughout the first period, but it was only 0:1 at the first intermission. Klagenfurt doubled the lead early in the second period on another powerplay, as Koch took the puck in on the left wing and assisted perfectly for Geier who was left alone between the circles, netting his second of the night. The Bears were quick to cut the lead in half: Zanoski stole the puck in the offensive zone and scored in the top right shelf with a nifty wrister in the 24th minute. The game got heated up before Klagenfurt's net when Zanoski and Comrie took the gloves off and decided to settle the matters the old-school way. KAC restored the two-goal lead in the 37th minute after Wahl picked up a rebound in front of the home net. Sylvestre made it a close game again in the 46th minute when he slid the puck below the visiting goalie after a scramble in the slot. A mistake on the defensive end was costly for the Bears: after losing the puck in the middle of the defensive zone Gartner assisted for Koch on the right wing who was alone and easily scored with Lisutin already beaten. Both teams pushed forward but couldn't score and KAC are leaving Zagreb with the three points.
