Olimpija Ljubljana has led the win2day ICE Hockey League standings since the opening round. After six consecutive victories, the Slovenians suffered their first defeat on Friday in Vienna. Head coach Ben Cooper’s team now travels to Bozen to face their closest pursuer. HCB Südtirol Alperia has celebrated five straight wins since their season-opening loss to Salzburg and could take over the top spot with another victory. While Ljubljana boasts the league’s best offense (38 goals), Bozen owns the strongest defense (only eight goals conceded). The last three head-to-head duels were all decided by a one-goal margin — two of them in favor of the Foxes.

In the live broadcast on ORF Sport+, the Steinbach Black Wings Linz meet EC Red Bull Salzburg. After five straight defeats, Upper Austria’s team is desperate for a turnaround. The third-placed Red Bulls, however, also aim to rebound after a 1–4 home loss to Bozen. Historically, the reigning champions lead the all-time series clearly with 79 wins to 57. Of the last seven games in Linz (four BWL wins, three RBS wins), six were decided by a single goal, and three required overtime.

Contrasting trends set the stage for the matchup between EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV and Hydro Fehérvár AV19. Villach recently posted three consecutive victories to climb to fourth place, while the Hungarians have slipped to tenth after three losses. Seven of their last eight encounters were decided by one goal.

EC-KAC ended its short losing streak on Friday with a 3–2 victory in Linz, returning to the winning column. The Red Jackets now hold an even record of three wins and three losses, currently eighth in the table. Directly behind them sits their next opponent, FTC-Telekom, returning to action after a week-long break. The league newcomer has won two of its last three games. In the first season meeting, KAC claimed a clear 6–2 win in Budapest.

The Pioneers Vorarlberg host the Moser Medical Graz99ers on Sunday. The team from Feldkirch sits second-to-last with three points from seven games. With only twelve goals scored, Vorarlberg currently has the weakest offense in the league. Graz visits Innsbruck on Saturday before traveling on to the Pioneers. The Styrians have won their last four head-to-head meetings with Vorarlberg.
