Sportivi Ghiaccio Cortina Hafro has extended the contract with defenseman Michael Zanatta, while several players stay in Jesenice and Zell am See. Defenseman and reliable scorer Francesco De Biasio went from Cortina to Milano.

Michael Zanatta will continue to defend for Sportivi Ghiaccio Cortina Hafro in the upcoming season as well. The 29-year old, strong and experienced defenseman played 40 games for the Italian club past season, scoring 12 points (3G/9A). Prior returning to Cortina last year, Zanatta spent three years in Switzerland.

Several contract extensions in Jesenice and in Zell am See
The youngsters Nejc Stojan (D), Jaka Šturm (F), Erik Svetina (F) and Gasper Sersen (F) will continue to play for HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice 2018/19 as well. Each player convinced in his first (complete) Alps Hockey League season 2017/18: 18-year old Svetina had 23 points (12G/11A) out of 39 games, 19-year old Sturm eight points (5G/3A) out of 30 matches, 18-year old Stojan 14 points (4G/10A) out of 46 games as a defenseman and 18-year old Sersen three Assists out of 27-games. All four youngsters won their first Slovenian title with the "Red Steelers" this year. Besides, power-forward Urban Sodja will go for goals and points for the „Red Steelers“ 2018/19 as well. 26-year old Sodja had 23 points (7G/16A) out of 44 Alps Hockey League games last season and has already won his third Slovenian title with the Steel Citizens this year.

The young Austrians Alexander Fazokas (F), Thomas Grabmayr (F) and Florian Aigner (D) stay in Zell am See. 22-year old Aigner and 23-year old Grabmayr netted their first goal in the Alps Hockey League last season, while 23-year old Fazokas had two Assists. Defenseman Felix Volgger leaves the club from Pinzgau.

De Biasio went from Cortina to Milano
Defenseman and reliable scorer Francesco De Biasio went from Cortina to Milano. The 33-year old, strong Italian was the best defender in the team last season, he had 28 points (7G/21A, Plus-Minus: +9) out of 40 games. 2016/17, De Biasio even earned the title Pointbest defenseman of the regular Alps Hockey League season, scoring 39 points (8G/31A) out of 38 matches. Prior, the defender has already played for Alleghe (2003 – 2013) and Valpellice (2013 – 2016) in Italy.
