On Monday (August 24th) the VEU Feldkirch starts with the ice training in the Vorarlberghalle. In addition to three tryout players, another three players from the past season extended their contract and will start their season preparation. HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana announced a new signing. The AHL champion of the season 2018/19 signed the Slovenian international Miha Stebih. At HC Pustertal Wölfe the contracts with nine players were extended. Among others, captain Armin Hofer remains on board. In addition, the South Tyroleans presented their preseason schedule. The Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan and the SHC Fassa Falcons also reported contract extensions.

Feldkirch starts with ice training
The VEU Feldkirch starts on Monday (August 24th) with the ice training for the coming season. Matic Jancar, Christoph Draschkowitz and Philipp Koczera will also be part of the team. The Vorarlbergers have succeeded in extending the working paper with these three players for another year. In addition, three young strikers, Paul Waldhauer, Lukas Kaider and Michael Rainer, will be doing a tryout in the next few days and will try to recommend themselves for the coming season.



Ljubljana signs Miha Stebih

The HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana announced the engagement of the 63-time Slovenian international Miha Stebih. Last season, the 28-year-old was under contract with the Polish club Cracovia Krakow. In the season 2017/18 the defender has already contested 54 appearances for the EC VSV in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League. Stebih signed a two-year contract and will start the training together with the team on August 31st.



Pustertal with squad update and preseason schedule

At the HC Pustertal Wölfe the squad planning is progressing. A total of nine more players will stay on board next season. Besides captain Armin Hofer, these are Danny Elliscasis, Maxi Leitner, Alex Zecchetto, Lukas DeLorenzo Meo, Yuri Cristellon, Raphael Andergassen, Tommasso Traversa, as well as Davide Conci. Matej Hocevar remains assistant and development coach. René Baur will continue as athletics, goalie and regeneration coach.

In addition, the South Tyroleans announced their preseason schedule. On September 13th the "Wolves" will start in Bruneck against the EC VSV from the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League. Further opponents are HC Gherdeina valgardena.it (16.09., 18.09.) and HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice (24.09., 26.09.).



Broncos extend with four important players

The Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan succeeded in extending the contracts with the two strikers Matthias Mantinger and David Gschnitzer, as well as with the two defenders Michael Messner and Dominik Bernard. For the only 24-year-old Mantinger it is already the tenth season with the Broncos. The tenth season in the dress of the "Wild Horses" will also start for 22-year-old Bernard in October.



Fassa extended with three players

The SHC Fassa Falcons announced the contract extension with Davide Schiavone, Marco Defrancesco and Joseph Mizzi. The 21-year-old Schiavone has so far scored 35 points for Fassa in the Alps Hockey League. For defender Defrancesco it will be the second season in the dress of the "Falcons". It will also be the second season with the Italians for the Canadian Mizzi. In the past season, the 22-year-old right wing was Fassa's top goal scorer with a total of 28 goals.



Bregenzerwald with second test match defeat

While most of the teams will only start with the ice training in the coming days and weeks, the EC Bregenzerwald already completed their second test game for the coming season last Saturday. Against HCB Ticino Rockets from the Swiss League, the Vorarlberg team lost with 1:3. The ECB's only goal was scored by Julian Metzler in the 55th minute of the game.
