Once again this year, fans will be able to get up close and personal with the championship trophy. Normally, posing in front of and with the "Karl Nedwed Trophy" is only reserved for the team and staff of the win2day ICE Hockey League champions, but this year you will once again have the opportunity to see the trophy up close and take souvenir photos with it.

Between December 16th and February 16th, the trophy will once again be touring from arena to arena. The championship trophy can be admired for the first time at the game between Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey and HC TIWAG Innsbruck. The time for souvenir photos is limited between the entrance to the arena and the end of the second break.

Two stops in Innsbruck
The "Karl Nedwed Trophy" can be seen twice in Innsbruck: The trophy will be on display at the rooftop punch stand at Das aDLERS by league partner Harry's Home on December 21st, followed by a tour stop at the PULS24 live game between HC TIWAG Innsbruck and the spusu Vienna Capitals the next day. Still in 2023, the Trophy will travel to Ljubljana (December 26) and Bruneck (December 30).

win2day again offers raffle
This year, the eight Austrian locations will once again be running a raffle supported by title sponsor win2day: After registering at the Trophy stand, each participant will receive a numbered win2day ICE soft puck, similar in size to an anti-stress ball, made of soft PVC and in the original puck shape and size. This must be thrown as close as possible to the bully point in the middle circle after the end of the game and a command from the arena announcer.

The winner of the day will be promptly rewarded with two VIP tickets for a regular season game of their choice and will also be entered into the draw for the main prize: a trip for two to the IIHF World Championship of the top division in Prague from May 17th to 19th, 2024. This includes two nights' accommodation including breakfast, a travel allowance for the journey there and back as well as VIP tickets for the Austria - Czech Republic, Canada - Finland and Austria - Norway games.

A main residence in Austria is required to play.

Karl Nedwed Trophy
The champions trophy of the win2day ICE Hockey League was awarded for the first time in 2007, since then all champions have been recorded on it. At that time, EC Red Bull Salzburg secured the title. When Karl Nedwed, who was league president from 2005 to 2009, passed away in November 2014 at the age of 71, the trophy was renamed in his honor. On April 14th, 2015, EC Red Bull Salzburg became the first team to lift the "Karl Nedwed Trophy" after a final sweep against Vienna. After the Red Bulls, who defended their title in 2016 and won it back-2-back again in 2022 and 2023, the spusu Vienna Capitals, HCB Südtirol Alperia and twice EC-KAC won the trophy.
The pot has seen a lot on its journey, as in the course of the celebrations, it broke during Salzburg's triumph in Znojmo, for example, or it has already been forgotten at a bus stop or ended up in bed with Capitals forward Rafael Rotter. It has already returned to the league without a single scratch, with several dents or even in 26 individual parts. Over the summer, the trophy will be given the necessary finishing touches and the players' names will be engraved.
