Two “Bring your Heroes" Games as part of the 11th round

The 11th round of the win2day ICE Hockey League continues on Tuesday and Wednesday. While league leaders HCB Südtirol Alperia will play at the EC-KAC in the only Wednesday game, five games are scheduled on Tuesday. There will also be two “Bring your Heroes" Games in Asiago and Bruneck.

The 11th round of the win2day ICE Hockey League features two “Bring your Heroes" Games in Asiago and Brunico. While in Asiago all season ticket holders can bring one accompanying person into the arena free of charge, in Brunico season ticket holders have the opportunity to bring another person for just five euros. In sporting terms, Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey will face Steinbach Black Wings Linz, while HC Pustertal will play against the Pioneers Vorarlberg. The “Wolves” from South Tyrol are currently in strong shape. They have only suffered one defeat in their last five games, which was last Friday at Fehérvár. With 14 points, Pustertal currently is in seventh place in the table. The Pioneers Vorarlberg, on the other hand, are still bottom of the table, but celebrated an important 3:1 away win in Asiago on Sunday. It was their first win since September 21. In the last two encounters with Pustertal, the Vorarlberg team won, while HCP had previously won in five out of six ICE duels.
In Asiago, the team in twelfth place in the table will face the team in eighth place from Linz. Both teams suffered defeats on Sunday: Linz lost 1:3 at home to Fehérvár, conceding their first defeat after previously winning four in a row, while Asiago lost 1:3 to the Pioneers Vorarlberg just two days after their surprising 5:1 home win over Salzburg. Asiago and Linz already faced each other on October 1, when the Black Wings celebrated a clear 8:2 home win.

Vienna has to go to Ljubljana
The spusu Vienna Capitals face an away game at Olimpija Ljubljana. The Capitals have not won in three games and have slipped to ninth place in the table. Olimpija Ljubljana are in sixth place, but only one point behind third-placed Fehérvár. They are five points ahead of the Capitals, although Ljubljana have played two games less. Last season, the Slovenians won three of the four encounters against the Viennese.

Fehérvár faces Villach
The EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV will be the fourth Austrian team to face an international ICE team on Tuesday. The “Eagles” will visit Hydro Fehérvár AV19, the third-placed team from Hungary, which has gained momentum in the league with four wins in a row and is currently six points behind leaders Bolzano. Opponents Villach are eleventh in the table. They have picked up six of their eight points at home. The Carinthians are still waiting for their first win away from home after regulation. On Sunday, they lost 2:4 at home to Graz, before winning 4:3/SO in Vienna. Fehérvár currently have the best defense in the league with only 16 goals conceded. Goalkeeper Rasmus Reijola has the best save percentage of all goalkeepers with 94.9%. Sam Harvey of Bolzano follows in second place with 94.3%.

Innsbruck vs. Salzburg only Austrian duel
In the only Austrian duel of the 11th round, reigning champions EC Red Bull Salzburg visit HC TIWAG Innsbruck. The Red Bulls were without a win last weekend, but remain in fourth place in the table. They have only won one of their last five games in all competitions and have yet not won away from home this season. Innsbruck currently is in tenth place and have also only won one of their last five games.

KAC and Bolzano conclude 11th round on Wednesday
The 11th round will be concluded on Wednesday with the game between EC-KAC and leaders HCB Südtirol Alperia. The visitors from South Tyrol have won all of their last four games and, with 24 points, currently have a two-point lead over first-pursuer Graz. The KAC are seven points behind the “Foxes” and are fifth in the table. On Sunday, they picked up a narrow 3:2/OT win in Salzburg. It was one of three wins from the past five league games. However, the Carinthians will also facethe best away team in the league on Wednesday, who have won four out of four games and conceded just four away goals. Last season, the KAC was victorious in three of their four encounters with HCB.
